The study aims to examine and explain the typical behaviors and phenomena of the network- contact from a micro perspective. Based on the Media Dependency Theory, the author of this thesis aims at making an analysis of the popular"vegetable game", and explaining the phenomena of"obsession in network"from the audience psychology aspect and media dependency aspect. This study suggests that the media physical environment and the pseudo-environment play an important role in influencing college students'network- contact. In addition, the various needs based on the survival and development are the incentives of the phenomena of their"obsession in network". For college students, the network is not only the entrance for individuals to get to society, but also the way- out for them to make a self-fulfillment. Compared with traditional media, the computer is a more personalized one. Therefore, the Internet is more easily to become a place for audiences to express their emotions. The manners and contents of college students'network- contact show a strong feature of habit and dependency. What behind such actions was the projection of various needs and feelings. It not only prompts college students to realize their dreams of participating in society through a variety of interactions, but also meets individual's emotional and other needs. Thus, a conclusion can be made that the projection is a bridge for audiences to connect"media and society".However, the over-projection tends to lead to a negative function or a latent function. The root lies in that the college students over-project their emotions and needs into the virtual reality which the internet produces. And the direct result is that they may fall into habitual media dependency, or they may be fascinated in it and can not get out, or they may fail to distinguish the limit of the network society and their behaviors are not in line with the reality.
