With the development of the computer network, communication technology and multimedia technology, the traditional video monitoring system with image compression card plus PC can't meet the requirement of some applications. At present, the latest trend is the application of Embedded System in video monitoring field, the network video monitoring system based on Embedded System has good application and development foreground.In this paper, an embedded TCP/IP network based on SOPC technology was designed, which made video monitoring system as its background, and then researched the key technology of embedded TCP/IP network. Using Nios II CPU of Altera and SOPC technology designed embedded network hardware platform, packing video data and then sending it to internet by DM9000A, which is an Ethernet controller.Connecting embedded system to network is based on integration of embedded system and the TCP/IP stack. In this paper, according to μC/OS-ll and LwlP stack, realize embedded network. μC/OS-II, which is an embedded Real Time Operating System (RTOS) with the advantage of free code, simple and effective core, fine real time, is widely applied in embedded system. LwlP is an embedded TCP/IP stack, with the advantage of free code, full functionality and can be replanted. And then we realized network connection of embedded system by means of replanting μC/OS-ll and LwlP stack.The content of this paper: choosing Cyclone II EP2C35 of Altera FPGA as core chip , which includes Nios II soft core, making use of development tools Quartus II 5.0 and Nios II IDE and using SOPC technology to design hardware development platform of embedded network; controlling network transmission with DM9000A of DAVICOM Ethernet interface chip; replanting μC/OS-ll to Nios II; realizing LwlP stack on μC/OS-ll and network programming; transmitting video data by embedded TCP/IP network.This project is used for real time video monitoring based on TCP/IP network, which refers to technology of network communication, multimedia, video compaction, and realizes the monitoring and control of image, video and data. It also contains assure of service quality, better security, some network management.
