Economic Analysis On The Evolution Of Urban Residents' Consumption Structure In Shanghai

In the production, distribution, exchange, consumption of all process and the link, consumption is the end. Any out of consumption means that deviate from the resources and value. Sustained and rapid consumption growth is mainly reflected the strengthening of economic autonomy, but also the expansion of domestic demand, the important condition to improve the living standards of residents and the comprehensive construction well-off society. Consumption culture, consumption mode, consumption structure to guide the perfection, also will have a lasting impact on a virtuous cycle of economic development.At present, we are at a critical period of upgrading of consumption, household consumption structure of city residents change fundamentally. In the fuel economic growth "three carriages"-- investment, exports, consumption, government strategy orientation in recent years is to expand domestic demand, especially to expand consumption. But the "Twelfth Five Year Plan" will also see consumption as the first major driving force of economic growth Chinese. Clearly, consumption is a very important variable, is the lasting motive power of economic growth. To expand consumer demand, we must accurately understand and grasp the characteristics and the change of consumption structure, this is to promote more rational adjustment of industrial structure and consumption structure has a very important significance.This paper takes the consumption structure of residents in Shanghai city for investigation and analysis of the object, from the two aspects of qualitative and quantitative analysis, static and dynamic evolution of comparative study, the horizontal and vertical angles of consumption structure of residents in Shanghai City, analysis of present situation of Shanghai city residents consumption hotspot and development characteristics; analysis the main factors influencing the Shanghai urban residents’ consumption structure upgrade; according to the research, consumption structure of Shanghai residents to conclude, and presents seven aspects of policy recommendations. Hope to provide a reference for the sustainable development of national economy in Shanghai city and benign cycle and future international metropolitan modernization.This paper is divided into five parts:The first part is introduction. Describes the research background, purpose and significance, research contents and methods, research innovation.The second part is the theoretical review. The study of consumption quantitative mainly concentrated in two aspects, one is the research on the consumption function, the two is a research on the consumption structure.The third part is the analysis of the economic evolution of consumption structure of residents in Shanghai city. Firstly, based on the statistical data of 1980-2013, finishing and calculating the Engel coefficient and the development coefficient of Shanghai city residents consumption. Then, according to the statistical data, the ELES model comparison and analysis of Shanghai city residents eight categories of expenditure are based on the marginal propensity to consume. At the same time, comparatively analysis the group of eight categories of goods with different income marginal propensity to consume. Mainly includes: analysis of high, middle, lower and upper, middle and low income group are 8 major categories of merchandise were marginal propensity to consume; analysis for each type of merchandise were of different income groups of the marginal propensity to consume. Finally, analysis of the 8 categories of goods consumption demand of the economy, including the analysis of the basic demand analysis, the income elasticity and price elasticity analysis.The fourth part is to analyze the current situation of Shanghai city residents consumption hot spots. Analysis of four kinds of the hot spot of consumption status of Shanghai city residents: automobile consumption, communication consumption, tourism consumption and eating out consumption, and summarizes the development characteristics of Shanghai city residents part of consumption demand.The fifth part for Shanghai urban residents’ consumption structure upgrade. First, this paper expounds the symbol of the reasonable consumption structure simply; Second, look adjustment and upgrading of industrial structure from the residents’ consumption expenditure structure; Then, the paper analyzes the main factors of restricting the consumption structure upgrade; Finally, summarizes the new trend of the consumption structure upgrade.The sixth is divided into policy recommendations. According to the conclusions of this paper puts forward some policy Suggestions about improving Shanghai residents’ consumption structure.
