Transnational M & A is an important way of helping enterprise of our country go aboard and soon go with the tide of world development. With the gradual advancement of globalization, more and more enterprises expand overseas business. As a pioneer of multinational enterprises, Lenovo presents important references for China’s enterprises M & A overseas.In this thesis, the M & A process is divided into three stages according to the Event Study method:The first year after M & A is the first stage, mainly develop integration of internal function such as human resources, finance, marketing, production and researches,etc.Three years after the mergers and acquisitions is the second stage, proceed deep integration including adjustment of the structure of the enterprise, the reformation of management system and the changes in the strategic level. Five years after the mergers and acquisitions is the third stage, in the later period of the merges and acquisitions the enterprise integration will be completed soon, clear and strengthen the core competitiveness of the new enterprise. Based on the value assessment theory, combined with the traditional Event Study and Financial Index method, the thesis assesses the efficiency of Lenovo’s M&A of IBM from the following three aspects:financial management, business management and marketing comparison.
