A Study On The Coordination Mechanism Of Tourism Interests Of Miao Village In Xijiang County, Guizhou Province

During the accelerating period of social transformation, the development usually goes with intense integration and conflict of interest. Once the interest coordination mechanism is not able to play its role well, the outcome is pretty likely to be counterproductive. Government guide the investment and operation is the current management mode of Xijiang Qianhu Miao Village in Guizhou Province. However, with the booming of Qianhu Miao Village’s tourism, the craving for the ‘self-determination’ of Village’s tourism is growing upon its residents. The conflicts between the residents of the Village and the government are becoming sharper and sharper, especially the conflict caused by profits distribution.The article selects Xijiang Qianhu Miao Village as research object, conducted a a filed research on the village with the synthetic application of Tourism Community Conflict and Stakeholder Theory as theoretical support. The article divided the core stakeholders of Xijiang Qianhu Miao Village into four main parts, including the government, tourism enterprises, tourists and residents of tourists areas. It investigated the interest appeal of key stakeholders through questionnaire based deeply on every stakeholder’s actual interest appeal during the development of Xijiang Qianhu Miao Village’s tourism. In addition, the article disentangled the contradictions and conflicts of interest during the development of Xijiang Qianhu Miao Village’s tourism. It also had a deep knowledge of the main conflicts, including the conflict between government and Village residents, the conflict between Village residents and tourism enterprises, the internal conflicts of the Village, the conflict between Village residents and tourists, etc. Then it concluded the main reasons that caused such conflicts of Xijiang scenic spot-the obvious unfair distribution, serious ‘ tourism enclave ’ phenomenon caused by insufficient community participation inadequate communication and surveillance caused by the lack of traditional management mechanism and informal organizations like tourist association, traditional management mechanism and some, unreasonable compensation and income increase mechanism, incomplete cultural protection mechanism. In the case of Xijiang Tourism Community’s conflicts and the reasons that caused the conflicts, the article offered some suggestions for the establishment and improvement of the interest coordination mechanism of Xijiang Qianhu Miao Village’s tourism as below: Pay attention to the fairness and efficiency of interest distribution and redistribution mechanism, effective community participation mechanism, effective communication and surveillance mechanism, sophisticated interest compensation and income increase mechanism, scientific cultural protection mechanism.
