Research Report On Bee Industry Development In Qingchuan County, Sichuan Province

Beekeeping is one of the traditional pillar industry of animal husbandry in Qingchuan county, Sichuan Province. The apiculture could not only improve financial income, ensure the market supply and maintain social stability in Qingchuan county, but could also adjust the agricultural structure, promote the rural areas development, and to realize the comprehensive construction of a wealthy society. In order to investigate the current apicultural status as an reference for the related local administration to make policies, In this study, based on the investigations and pooled data, we analyzed out the beekeeping achievements and problems existed in Qingchuan county. Meanwhile, as to the current problems existed in the apiculture, we put forward some suggestions for corresponding development strategy and countermeasures.This paper contains four chapters. Firstly, based on a large number of documents and statistical data, we summarized the prelimilary situations about the beekeeping and bee production industry in Qingchuan county. The beekeeping is gradually moving toward standardization, large scale, scientification development, professional cooperative organizations have being emerging out gradually, bee products processing enterprises are stably developing. Secondly, to obtain the first-hand original data, we visited and interviewed large-scale farms (households), professional cooperatives and the farmers in Qingchuan county, and we especially investigated the preferential policies and measures made by the local governments for the development of apiculture. We found that the local governments support beekeeping, actively carry out policies to protect genetic diversity of the resources, focus on science-technology promotion, consolidate breeding bases construction, increase the industrial organization model, and continue to strengthen the brand building. Thirdly, we made discussions on the agricultural technology promotion, animal husbandry and veterinary, and other related departments, the present situation and the main problems existed in Qingchuan county, we suggest that the apiculture face the following problems:variety degeneration, production performance decline, backward mode of production, low level of production technology, product quality, degree of industrialization, economic efficiency, short of industry investment and development potential. Finally, in view of the above results, combined with the analyses of maturity model and successful cases from in and outside of Sichuan province, we put forward some suggestions and development strategies for the apiculture in Qingchuan as follows:1) Strengthen variety breeding, and improve the production performance; 2)Strengthen science and technology utilization, the realization of scientific culture; 3)Strengthen the main drive,improving the level of industrialization; 4)Strengthen the support, consolidat the foundation of development; 5)Strengthen the quality and safety, enhance the brand benefit. The methods mentioned above could not only solve the problems, but will also further promote the bee industry in Qingchuan county with sustained and healthy development, and have an important guiding significance to enhance the market competitiveness of bee products.
