Regional Informatization And Service Industry Growth: An Empirical Study Based On Provincial Samples

Information is the inevitable outcome of the economical development. Since entering the 21st century, Information, which is based on the Internet, telecommunications, networking technology, with the development and utilization of information data as the core,has penetrated into all aspects of economic and social development, making a profound impact on the industrial development of countries around the world. With the further development of the economy, the global industrial structure presents the trend that service industry comes to dominate the economy instead of industry.To investigate the relationship between the regional information and service industry has very important academic and practical significance.The informatization construction of our country started in the middle of the industrialization, we have had impressive achievements after just over 30 years of development under the impetus of the national policy,but there still exists certain distance with the western developed countries. At present, the academic study of informatization mainly focused on the relationship between infrormation and economic aggregate or industrial. The impact of information on the development of the service industry has not yet received enough attention.In this study, through the analysis of the existing literature, the writer found that the explorarion of the relationship between information and service industry still lacks comprehensive theory and mechanism analysis, also, quantitative analysis being inadequate. This paper focuses on two issues:one is informatization how to promote service industry growth, including the mechanism of informatization impact services production efficiency;The other is informatization’s role in the service industry and the impact on regional regional disparities, including components of informatization impact on services industry.First of all, clearly to define information and services industry, analyzing information features, information technology index system and service structure,it lays the foundation for theoretical and empirical analysis.Analysis start from the role of five constituent elements of information,such as information infrastructure、the application of information technology、information consumption、the capacity of information professionals、the external environment of information. On this basis, we elaborate the information how to influence service industry from four aspects,including the impact on service industry productivity、 industrial structure、service outsource and different areas. Finally, we analyze the mechanism of information affect services industry productivity from the efficiency point of view, involving the efficiency of innovation、trade、organizational.Then we investigate informatization’s role in the service industry and the impact n different area of China. By constructing econometric model, the added value of service industry is set to the dependent variable and capital、labor、information are set to independent variable, selecting 2005-2012 provincial data.Then, we can arrive at these results that the extent of the impact of information on different region’s, the impaction changing over time and the five constituent elements of information works.We can have these conclusion as follows:Firstly,informatization plays a significant role in service industry growth,beyond the same circumstances,more than capital input and labor input effect of services. Secondly, the contribution of informatization in different regions of China is not the same,while it has a promoting and leading role in the western areas, the eastern region benefiting from the minimum.Thirdly, the impact of informatization on services industry is at accelerated stage.Fourthly,different information components show different impaction, the capacity of information professionals contribututing the most comparing to other components.Finally, on the basis of the above research, we put forward the corresponding countermeasures and suggestions on information development of our country. Given the limited level of the author, the paper for the exploration of the problem is only a preliminary attempt,looking forward more in-depth study in this field.
