It is no doubt a rapid development for China that Chinese Railway High-speed(CRH)has got over nineteen thousand kilometers of operating mileage, ranking the first worldwide in just ten years. This has strongly disturbed Japan, the first country that put High Speed Railways(HSR) into use. The global market has become a “battlefield” for CRH and Japanese Shinkansen to bid the HSR projects. Along with the popularizing of“the Belt and Road”(the B&R) initiative proposed by China, whether this initiative can help CRH competition in Eurasia has been in question. This article will mainly compare the Chinese and Japanese HSR’s competitiveness regarding exportation to Eurasian countries. It is found that HSR exportation has little matter with the “the B&R” geopolitical theories. All projects CRH has got are not located in Chinese neighboring countries and more for coastal countries while Shinkansen has received many projects near China. “The B&R” may strengthened the thought of “Befriend a distant state while attacking a neighbor”, which turns out to be an obstruction for CRH to win the bid. Hence, it is recommended that CRH shall be“de-politicized” and be disconnected with “the B&R” so that the enterprises could focus on enhancing their competence by learning the merits or even cooperating with competitors such as the employment of Japanese retired personnel.
