The hotel industry is one of the most modernized and internationalized industries in China. From the beginning, it used the growth models and advanced experience of foreign hotel enterprises management for reference. This brought the backward advantages for the development of China's hotel industry, but the result is not fully up to expectations. The reason is the difference of development process, economic system and so on, which make the development of China's hotel industry unable to imitate the mature growth models of foreign hotel industry indiscriminately. China's hotel industry must find the suitable growth models for itself. With China's entrance to WTO, under the double restriction of the buyer's market and the great scale enlargement of the international hotel chains, China's hotel enterprises are facing the pressure of system innovation such as the system, market, management, and so on. In this case, how to choose suitable growth models by use of advanced experience abroad for reference, and how to realize the transition in the products operation, administration mechanism and management system for the Chinese most state-owned hotels during the transition from planned economy to market economy, have become the problems imperatively to solute for China's hotel enterprises. A lot of experts and scholars have already done some research in theory, and made some achievement in order to promote practice, but there is still space to innovate on the breadth and depth of the theory. The proposition of this thesis is put forward on the basis of this background. The purpose lies in finding out the experience to refer for China's hotel enterprises by using enterprise grow theory to analyze growth models, characteristic of growth and restrict factors of hotel enterprises in terms of international hotel industry.On the basis of the study of enterprise grow theories and growth models, the thesis analyzed the particularity of the growth of hotel enterprises from three respects of industry characteristic, technological characteristic and product characteristic; classified the growth models according to operating structure, organizational framework and space structure that include horizontal integrated hotel chain, vertical integrated hotel chain, the individual hotel and hotel consortia and analyzed the four kinds of growth models.Through the analysis of the growth models, we can draw the factors to support the growth of international hotel enterprises, including distinct property right system and ripe system of property right transactions, perfect hotel professional manager's market and encourage-constraint mechanism, normal information disclosure mechanism, and so on. According to the development of China's hotel industry, we can find out these factors are the factors restraining from the development of China's hotel enterprises and the reference goals of transition of hotel industry. But the perfection of these factors can not be finished overnight, also can not realize by an individual hotel. In this case, hotel enterprises must set up the grow-up mechanism and choose suitable growth models and development strategies. The fifth part of this paper discussed the choice of the growth models and development strategies of China's hotel enterprises.Because enterprise growth theories are too complicated, the theoretical analysis to growth models of hotel enterprises in this paper is not deep enough; and about how to choose suitable growth models, this paper just provides some suggestions macroscopically.
