Contemporary Guide Knowledge Structure Optimization Study

Some new characters of the tourism industry have begun to come forth. And with the development of knowledge economy and experience economy, tour guides, as an important part of tourism human resources have to face significant challenges. Thus the knowledge structure of tour guides' has been optimized in order to adapt the development of contemporary tourism industry.This thesis will analyze the limitation of the present knowledge structures for the tour guides and the cause of the present structure. For improving the knowledge structure of the tour guides, this thesis brings forward the concept of learning-oriented tour guides and specialized tour guides and constructs the reasonable structure with tourism industry basic knowledge, service skills and diathesis of the tour guides. Furthermore, this paper also gives feasible optimizing model for the knowledge structure.The foreword is composed of the background of choosing this topic, the research summary, the research methods and the significance. The first part is about the general characters and the new trends of tour guide services. The second part is about the way of forming the knowledge structure for the tour guides and this part is based on plenty of surveys. The third part is about the tour guides' knowledge structure for contemporary tourism industry. Based on Constructivism Theory, this part tries to construct the reasonable structure with tourism industry basic knowledge, service skills and diathesis of the tour guides. The fourth part gives feasible resolutions for optimizing the knowledge structure. The fifth part summarizes the main ideas of this thesis.
