In this paper, the correlation between Business Process Reengineering (BPR) and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) has been studied. BPR implementation has been innovated through ERP application, which guaranteed the effective approach of practicing BPR with the management information system. Furthermore, this model was applied to a petroleum corporation, and the BPR strategy based upon the ERP system has been put into effect.After probing into the BPR strategy and ERP theory, this paper expounds that BPR is a valid tool, which can strengthen the enterprise's core-competence. According to the essential characteristics of BPR, this paper goes still one step further to propose a model that apply BPR on the basis of ERP managing platform, and establishes the analysis frame of the strategy and the basic mode of implementation.Furthermore, with the study object of SINOPEC Hunan Oil Products Company and with the aim of making normative management system, perfecting the company organization and business process, this paper introduced the ideas of carrying out BPR in the enterprises combined with the implementation of ERP in order to convert business from traditional organization into process organization. Thus a flexible teamwork model can be established and the organization is more flexible, which can meet the demand of reforms in enterprises. All these can help build a distinctive and united corporate culture, set up a learning organization, reform the views and cultivation of talented people andstrengthen the enterprise's core competence.Combined with the case of the BPR implementation in SINOPEC Hunan Oil Products Company, this paper expounds the example of how to apply the strategy and it is significant in helping the petroleum enterprises in our country.
