Hunan Competitiveness Of Manufacturing Industry Research

Manufacturing industry is the significant source for the development of national economy and the basis for a nation's international competitiveness from the perspective of changes in the world economic structure. More than twenty years of reform and opening up, the manufacturing industry in Hunan Province has made great achievements. However, it is obvious that the gap between its strength and that in developed coastal areas is widening. The key to rejuvenating Hunan's provincial economy in the new century is to grasp the opportunity that world manufacturing industry is shifting to developing countries, especially to China, so as to establish the base of modern manufacturing industry in Hunan.According to the review on relevant theories and evaluation methods of international industrial competitiveness, provides the evaluation model of international competitiveness of Hunan manufacturing industry. 11 indexes are screened to show the international competitiveness of that industry. Establishing the evaluation model, it adopts the factor analysis and clustering analysis to grade and categorize such international competitiveness, and analysis on concrete industries is made.The results showed that the general international competitiveness of Hunan manufacturing industries was comparatively low in the national scope. The place and sorts of international competitiveness deduced from the factorial analysis accord with Hunan's economy situations on the whole. Finally, the policy suggestion according to the evaluation result.
