With the deep development of the knowledge-intensive Economy and the Economic Globalization, the Intellectual Property (IP) goes from the domestic into the international market with a good trend of globalization. In the international trade area, however, have an intensive current of intellective content. International trade has a deep connection with the IP in the trade product and almost all the trade activity. IP in itself has been to a new type of trade, too.This thesis holds a view that the trade effects bring by IP is determined by its inner character. The knowledge intense character of the IP plays a positive role in enlarging the trade flux and optimizing the trade structure. In the other hand, the IP also intensifies the competition of the trade products and market in the world wide. The monopoly of the IP incurs the global IP protection. As a result, it reinforces the competition advantage of the MNC and developed country, pricks up the trade protection and bulwark function .The developing country have the threats of the worsen of the trade status, the trade condition and the trade retaliation. As well as the lose of the trade competition ability. The gaps between the North and South widen. An effective IPR then becomes a good choice of harmonizing the international relations.Demonstration study show that deep connection exists among the world trade, GDP and accumulative patent application. As well as international trade, invest and patent application in our country. Further more, the expert of high-knowledge product has a positive correlation with the patent application and R&D expense in that year. High-knowledge product trade and total foreign trade of each province in China have a deep relation with the IP application in the province. In a word, the trade effects bring by IP consist of trade innovation effect, trade creation effect, trade competition effect, trade criterion effect and trade distortion effect. China has a good development in international trade, but has much pressure brings by the internal and external IP development. As a strategy, we should unify the IP management and combine with the trade strategy, enhance the trade advantage of the traditional and high-tech industry, improve the IP handle ability of the trade company.
