The world is changing greatly, so does the outer surroundingswhere enterprises stay in, especially after China's assessment into WTO. It isurgently needed for companies to strengthen their distinctive competences inorder to obtain sustainable development.The industry of flour processing is related to people's daily life,and there are so many flour processing companies that many kinds ofproducts with different brands and qulity in the market around China. As amatter of fact, some of them have already bankruptted, some companies arestruggling for survive, still others are trying to multify their business and soon. It becomes a big problem to keep the current companies exist anddevelop.The author knows the industry well because she worked in thefield for many years. The future is promising for the industry to get itsdistinctive competence, which is also the aim of the study in the paper.This paper is based on the analysis of a medium state-ownedflour processing company. Through the study of the flour industry andcompany internal surroundings, the author discussed the ways andmeasurements to create and promote the distinctive competences of thestate-owned flour processing companies in China.
