The Economic Function Of Government In China Under The Condition Of Socialist Market Economy

The government's function includes political function, economic function and social function. Now we just limit to economic function, by witch the government manages the economical operation, organizes and promote the economical development. As commonly consideration, the economical function of government is organization, direction, harmonization, control and supervision. But in the traditional centralized planned economy system, the government acts as social manager, property owner and corporation proprietor. The traditional economical function of government has not adapted to the request of the marketing system operation. Our reform of economical system is mainly to establish marketing economy of social democracy, the governmental management system reform should exert active effect to marketing competition. Aiming at the problems in the reform, the essential measure is to change the government function , control government's action , and qualifies the government's economic responsibility.The reasonable qualification of government's economical function , suitable effect and correct implement can promote the economic development, political stabilization and improvement of people's standard of living. The analysis of this problem has benefit both to the government's macroscopical economic management of a country, and to a regional government's economic management. This article is to analyze the research production of government's economic function, on the foundation of which we will expatiate the necessity of government's economic function in the market economy of social democracy and qualify the government's economic function. Then put forward consideration on changing our government's economic function, in order to construct a scientific system of government's economic function of the market economy.
