Both multinational companies overseas and domestic known enterprises have mostly adapted multiple-oriented managing strategies. Some companies strives greatly on the multiple-oriented managing strategies, while some failed because of multiple-oriented managing strategies. Objectively, as a form of managing strategy, multiple-oriented management itself is not right or wrong, holding both benefits and harm. Through analyzing the case of Henan Pingdingshan Coal Industry Group Ltd. this paper probes into the proposition that whether multiple-oriented management is an opportunity or a trap.Beginning with analyzing reasons and conditions of multiple-oriented management of Henan Pingdingshan Coal Industry Group Ltd, first of all, the character of Pingdignshan Coal Group Ltd. Multiple—oriented management is discussed, then, the paper expounds its general and special reasons and stresses the conditions of adopting multiple—oriented management. This paper detailed estimates the implement effect and performance of its management and illustrates the risk existing in the process and measures dealing with the risks. The evaluation of achievements are as follows, for instance, assets debt, running fund, the capacity of making profit, technique, economic and social benefit. Risks are the following : dispersing firm limited resources, running cost and management difficulty, reducing the efficiency of making policy, As far as the measures of evading risk are concerned, such as regulating organizational structure, building up the system of making strategic policy and market main body, identifying property rights, perfecting technical improvable system and strengthening the exploitation of new product and so on.
