Yancheng Coastal Wetland Tourism Ecological Footprint Analysis And Eco-tourism For Sustainable Development Research

Based on the model of ecological footprint, combined with the ecological consumption and its structure character of tourists, this paper leads touristic ecological footprint model into the assessment of sustainable tourism.We have discussed the concept of ecological footprint and founded the calculating models including transportation, shopping, food and beverage, accommodation and sight-seeing. Taking Yancheng coastal wetland region, Jiangsu province as an example, we calculate and analyze the touristic ecological footprint of Yancheng coastal wetland in 2004. Meanwhile, the development strategy of regional sustainable tourism has been discussed.The ecological footprint of Yancheng coastal wetland is 0.02437hm~2 per capita in 2004; Extrapolating the footprint of a tourist to Yancheng coastal wetland (1.51 days) to a year, results in an area of 5.89hm~2 per capita in 2004; The average tourist output of 1hm~2 ecological footprint is US $ 1885.Dimensions of tourist flows, tourist consumption level and model, tourist spatial behavior, the policy and stratagem of the tourist destination are the key factors to affect the size of touristic ecological footprint; The TEFA is simple and convenient for people to appraise the ecological influence of tourism.In order to reduce the touristic ecological footprint, it is very important for Yancheng coastal wetland to improve the efficiency of energy using, prolong the visitors' stay and initiate the ecotourism model by examining the structure of touristic ecological footprint.At last, we not only provide the sustainable models of wetland distribution development but also put forward the stratagem of coastal wetland ecotourism in Yancheng coastal wetland based on the analysis of touristic ecological footprint.
