With the development of economy, the tourism in China has become more and more important. At present, the domestic travel market competition is intense. So to discover and to develop the new tourism consumption community has already become a key point increasingly, which catches hold of the tourism public's attention. Because of its huge population, the prominent youth vigor and force of impacting on other tour groups, the undergraduates have become a potential source of travel market and a new luminescent spot in the course of tourism development. To research on the undergraduate traveling behavior and to grasp their characteristics and rules will have positive impact on scientific understanding and effective guiding in the undergraduates tour demand. What's more, it will be a help to develop domestic travel market and to promote the comprehensive and healthy development of our higher education.The paper focuses on the research undergraduate behavior oriented to the seven colleges in Guilin. Based on travel behavior and travel economy, an empirical study has been done on the travel behavior characteristics and rules of the undergraduates in Guilin city by means of statistics analysis, even the positive and barrier effects of undergraduates on the tourist group have been discussed after the macroscopical and microcosmic factors which impresses on the undergraduates behavior have been interpreted in combination with the consumer psychology and marketing.Based on statistics analysis of Guilin undergraduate questionnaires, the research indicates that the main purpose of the undergraduates is for sightseeing apart from other purposes. As for the selection of tour destination, diverse tour demand appears, such as landscape, seashore, sand beach and so on. In view of the undergraduates'tour restrictions, traveling expense is most vital to the undergraduates. After descriptive analysis has been done, quantitative analysis has been carried out further. The results show that travel expense and degree of tour likes make no significant difference between the male undergraduates and female undergraduates.
