Division of labor has been considered as one of the most important issues in social science field for a long time. Since Adam Smith created the economics theory system, it focuses on the following two perspectives:Firstly, what decides the extent and quality of division of labor and what is the relation of development among scope economy, exchange cost, economy growth, technology advancement, etc.? Secondly, what are advantages and disadvantages brought by it and how to prove? Mostly affected by Adam Smith, especially by his theory, the traditional research about division of labor is still based on the stable man characters and the simple material relation system between economical variables, which makes the research static, solitary and far away from historical aspect. This research starts from the outward appearance, historical premise instead of the special condition of history and society. So it can hardly tell the essence elements, let alone the origin and essence of division of labor, which makes the research superficial and useless.I will show my opinions in my paper. That is, although the traditional division of labor was an advance on the traditional theory construction, I do neither agree with them, esp. classical political economics, assuming of man characters, nor the theory analysis basing on it.What I insist is based on the connection of division of labor by Karl Marx on philosophy, economics and sociology. This division of labor is not based on some metaphysics, religion, superficial aspects, but on a concrete, practicing, perceptual, developing condition.
