In 1994 Dr. Lester R. Brown brought forward the idea of "Who Will Feed China", Chinese food security becomes the issue of government and academic field. From the end of 20th century, As Chinese food export exceeded import, plantation and water resources deteriorated, Chinese food security aroused much attention. The research on Chinese food security leads to more discussion of East Asia food security. Agriculture in East Asia shares common characteristics, Chinese food security in some degree is East Asia's food security. East Asia's resource ,the characteristics of its development of economy and society ,and its strategy position lead to the existence of East Asia food security.The research on East Asia is to explore it's food security in economic and social structure of East Asia. The article looks back on the background from which East Asia food security rose. Then it analyzes this issue through data analysis and contrast between country and history, and also brings forward new judgement and explaination.The article is divided into four chapters. The first chapter introduces the conception and factors to affect it, which is the theoretical base of the whole article. The main point is put forward and some conceptions are explained. How the conception of food security developed and what it on earth means. Then to explore the cause of the problem, that is , the conflict of rigidity of demand and the instability of supply.The second chapter puts forward the proposition by introducing Brown's Alert. The chapter puts forward the idea that not only exists the problem of "Who Will Feed China", but also exists the problem of food security in whole East Asia.The third chapter analyze at length the potential menace of East Asia.
