The growing U.S. trade deficit with China becomes a major problem annoying Sino-U.S. relations. There are objective economic reasons behind Sino-U.S. trade deficit. While, given to the tight tie between economy and politics, the economic problem usually affects politics, which harms the Sino-U.S. trade relations. A proper settlement on bilateral trade deficit matters not only to Sino-U.S. relations, but also to eastern Asian trade relations and even to the world. Based on these acknowledgements, I did some researches on Sino-U.S. trade deficit. The paper is arranged as follow: Chapter 1. An evaluation of Sino-U.S. trade relations and U.S. trade deficit with China, the chapter ends with 5 features of U.S. trade deficit with China; Chapter 2. Using international trade theories to analyze the reasons of Sino-U.S. trade deficit and then testify those analyses by statistics; Chapter 3. Generalizing the effects of Sino-U.S. trade deficit on bilateral relations and eastern Asian trade relations. The paper believes that in settling the problems causing by Sino-U.S. trade deficit, both counties need to objectively research and analyze the situation so they can determine the wisest course, looking at the long-term consequences of actions that may bring them short-term praise. In trade between the United States and China, there need not be a winner and a loser. Both nations and their citizens can be winners.
