Land Suitability Evaluation, Matter-element Extension Methods, And Empirical Research

In the recent several dozens years, along with the development of social economy, the contradiction of population, resources and environment is prominent day by day, and the competition of the social various aspects using the land is intense increasingly. In quite many areas, and resource has been created destruction seriously because of adopting the plundering -like development to the land. It has affected the sustainable development social economy. The land suitability evaluation is an important research topic about the overall plan of land utilization. Carrying out the land suitability evaluation scientifically is an important basis to the strategic research of land development and reasonable use, and is essential method to realize sustainable use of the land resource. This paper takes the overall plan of land utilization in Qinzhou City, Guangxi as the research background, and takes the theory of systems science as the instruction. The principle, the content and the method of the land suitability evaluation have made exhaustive elaboration.The paper proposes a new method of the land suitability evaluation - Matter Element Model on the basis of commonly used evaluation method formerly, and using the theory and method to establish matter element model of the land suitability evaluation. In this foundation, using the object-oriented software method of exploitation, taking Delphi as the development language, carrying on the integration of the model and GIS by the module type, the writer develops the land suitability evaluation information system software that has certain versatile. The writer evaluates the land suitability of the region studied by using the system software. Analyzing land utilization request, determining soil evaluation factor and the target system in view of the specific land utilization way, the writer carries on the evaluation of the region studied by using the system software, and obtains the land suitability evaluation result. The results display the quantity and the spatial distribution of the land suitability by the graphic form directly-viewing.The result proved that the land suitability evaluation information system constructed by applying matter element method and unifying it with the geographic information system is scientific and feasible. It provides one kind of policy-making method and tool that has certain versatile for the new turn land construction and prospective planning.
