This dissertation research on female periodic Employment based on New HomeEconomics theory, to discuss how married women labor force participation decision maketo achieving the maximum family utility. This dissertation analysis the causes and theimpact factors of female periodic employment, then utilize basic New Home Economytheory and combine with related existing empirical materials, according to the charactersof family economic behaviors in the new age, to discuss the impact factors and theirmechanism on the female periodic employment strategy: for temporal selection, it stateshow family member income and procreation influence the strategy of female labor forceparticipation; for inter-temporal selection, it shows that working can accumulate humancapital for married women themselves, fostering child during the process of the femaleperiodic employment is not only a part of family functions but also one kind of familyhuman capital investment, both of them can bring future benefits to the family. Thereby,combined with Human Capital Theory, this dissertation discuss how the inter-temporalbenefit in the family lifecycle impact the female periodic employment strategy. Theconclusion based on analysis above is that the female periodic employment is a rationalstrategy to pursuing the whole, long-term maximum family utility, consequently provides acomprehensive and developmental perspective to judge the female periodic employmentcorrectly. In addition, it further brings out policy suggestions about ameliorating the femaleemployment situation.
