The thesis consists of three major issues; first, the cassava trading between Thailand and China. China imports large quantity of cassava from Thailand and this has been both advantageous and disadvantageous. Second, the competition and situation of cassava trading between Thailand and Vietnam, and the analysis of cassava trading advantages between the two countries. Third, the SWOT analysis of Thailand's real cassava trading situation in global market. This analysis examines the strength, weakness, opportunities and threat of Thai cassava industry. The result clearly demonstrates Thai cassava's high global market share, especially in Chinese market, and the comparison between Thai and Vietnamese cassava also shows Thailand's higher competitive potential. However, Vietnam's growing efficiency in cassava industry should not be overlooked. Also the fact that Vietnamese cassava in gaining market share from China and Thailand is crucial. Accordingly, all possibilities to maintain, or even increase, Thailand's strength in cassava industry should be intensely considered.
