In recent years,the study of competitive potential has caught a far-ranging attention and interests in academic and trade industry,also including the according research achievement.However some deficiencies also exist such as analyzing the competitive relations in industry in a deeper perspective,lacking a total measure about competitive potential.On account of this situation,this paper put an emphasis on connotation,dimension construction,specific measurement index of competitive potential,which is based on the study of Ming-Jer Chen,aiming at solving the measure problem of competitive potential.First of all,through literature review,on the basis of related theory of the integration,this paper defined the connotation of enterprise competitive potential based on integrated perspective and set up a dimension system,which includes three elements of intensity of competition based on the multipoint competition theory,competition resources based on the resource-based theory,competitive position based on the theory of strategic position,provides a theoretical framework for the measurement of competitive potential.Secondly,this paper selected catering enterprises as the object,combined with competitive potential dimension system and related research,analyzed the connotation of each dimension,built the measurement indexes and explains the meaning of the indexes.Eventually,it used content relationship strength,positioning relationship strength and competition information transmission efficiency to measure the competition strength;brand awareness degree,degree of public praise about product,degree of public praise about environment,degree of public praise about service to measure the competitive resource;network density,point centrality degree and structural holes to measure the competitive position and built a measurement index system of catering enterprise's competitive potential.Again,this paper used the data of high-end catering enterprises in Harbin to verify the validity of the measurement index system of catering enterprise's competitive potential.It used a software of collecting network data named LocoySpider to collect catering enterprises'data which come from the Public Review websites(Harbin station)on 18th,November,2014;used UCINET6.0 software and combined with the characteristics of data to calculate the measurement indexes;used SPSS20.0 software to conduct descriptive statistics analysis,correlation analysis,reliability analysis test.Empirical study results showed that the accuracy of dimension of competitive potential based on theory of integration and verified that the measurement index system of catering enterprise's competitive potential are reasonable and effective.Finally,this paper provided practical suggestions of the system of the measurement of competitive potential in other industries from two aspects of the index selection and data collection.Namely,according to the nature of the industry,an effective measurement method is provided for other industries to understand their own competitive potential,which is analyzed from the three measurement of the competitive intension,the competitive resource,the competitive position.
