The Core Competitiveness Of State-owned Commercial Banks Based On The Service Process Reengineering

Accompany with the deepening of financial reform and the approach of deadline of financial opening promised by our government to the foreign countries when we entered the WTO, domestic commercial banks are faced with unprecedented fierce competition from the domestic commercial banks as well as other multinational financial giants. As the chief representative of Chinese banks, domestic commercial banks are undertaking great responsibilities and missions. Within the process of commercial banks' development, a core issue has come into being: when the original advantages are weakened gradually even disappear or converted into barriers, how should domestic commercial banks re-cultivate and maintain their own core competitiveness ?'The Banker', namely, the research center of the competitiveness of Chinese commercial banks, issued a Competitive Report of Chinese Commercial Banks at the beginning of this year, which revealed the low-level competitiveness of domestic commercial banks. Judged from of the comprehensive competitiveness, none of the four domestic commercial banks has entered top five in the ranking, although CCB and BOC both have gained the injection of national capital. Judged from the point of human resources, technological capabilities, financial inventive powers, service competitiveness corporate governance internal control, the potential competitiveness of domestic commercial banks are weak. Therefore, the cultivation of core competence has become a pressing task of domestic commercial banks.There are many researches in the aspect of core competitiveness, most domestic scholars and banking employees like to do research from the special business or management mode, and come up with the method of enhancing the core competitiveness. Considering the characteristic of the service industry and the current condition of domestic banks, this paper put forward the concept of Service Process Reengineering and tries to find a unique way to mould and enhance the core competitiveness by carefully study the service process reengineering of commercial banks.This paper mainly uses SWOT method to analysis the strengths, weaknesses.
