Study On Comparison Between Chinese And Western Catering Cultures

As far as we know, diet is one of the key points of human being's life. Diet has been developed accompanied by the development of our society. People can dedicate into the research of technology, economy, culture and politics only when people's diet has been effectively supplied. From the very ancient times to the highly-developed modern society, mankind has achieved great success in technology, economy, culture and military affairs through continual conquest of nature. With the development of society, human being's diet has been experiencing advancement and progress. From some aspect, diet has been mutually influenced by national culture and regional features, thus forming a kind of cultural carrier.Known by all, diet is the upmost demand of mankind. It is also one of the most important forms of social life. However, influenced by different national culture and regional features, there are great differences between diet of different nation. Chinese catering culture has become an important component part of the world catering culture. As the same, influenced by western geographical features, products conditions and its national culture, western catering culture has formed its own features, thus shinning brightly in the history of world catering culture.Chinese and western catering cultures have many differences by the influence of different national cultures. They also have great interactions between each other, especially under the circumstances of increasingly closer international communication. This paper tries to set forth the differences between Chinese and western catering cultures from the aspects of concept of diet, ways of diet, materials of diet, manners of diet and different opinions on nutrition and tastes. This paper also tries to make some comments on the present situation of Chinese and western catering cultures under the circumstances of closer communication.The including part gives a whole describing of Chinese and Western diet. Catering culture isanimportant part of culture,which gives a special aspectof culture of aregion.It also cann't be devided from the economy and communication. Under the circumstances of farming economy, Chinese catering culture makes great differences from western catering culture from the aspect of catering materials and? appliance of catering.These differences are the results of different economy,geography, philosophy and religion. In the history of humankind, communication is animportant activity,which brings great changes to every part of humans'life, including catering culture.
