Algorithms And Software For Areal Surface Texture Analysis And Evaluation

Surface topography which has a great influence on the performance of component is result of multitude factors during the manufacture process. It is an important task to measure and evaluate the topography features of component's machining face in surface metrology field. It is also one of the main researches of the new GPS system. The analysis and assessment of a surface topography extend from profile to areal based on the functional requirements. Therefore, research of a useful software for analyzing and characterizing of surface topography used in areal analyzing will benefit for the manufacturing industry in our country.The main contributions and work in this dissertation are outlined as follows: Filter techniques for profile and areal surface are investigated, and the main work is focused on the principles and algorithms of spline filter, spline wavelet filter and gauss filter.The software for spline wavelet filter is on trial in some enterprise with good results. Profile parameters and areal parameters are introduced based on ISO4287 and ISO25178, and the methods of calculating the space parameters and hybrid parameters are elaborated; a discrete method to calculate the height parameters is proposed and it has been proved to be good in practice result.The integrated software is designed based on VC++6.0 platform. The SDI frame is employed by which views could be switchover to integrate functions to their own interface, OpenGL is used through which the measured surface can be viewd with stereoscopic display and dynamical observation.Finally, the accuracy of results with this software has been verified by NPL's normal data and softgauges. Besides, the comparison of the software with TalyMap developed by Taylor Hobson has been done, and the result has been proved to be good .
