With the rapid development of computer technology, the numerical simulationtechnology plays an more and more important status in the numerical control system. Thetraditional two-dimensional model has been replaced by3D real simulation processingmodel. However, there are some problems in the current simulation technology, such asslower simulation and poor display effect. Solving these problems has become a focus ofmy subject, and is also a foundation that the NC milling machining real-time simulationcan be guaranteed, it has important theoretical and practical significance.The paper suggests quadrilateral grid modeling method, and found the virtual NCmilling machining simulation environment, also improvs algorithm with putting the unitstep angle as middle variables, taking the super-heavy-duty CNC milling and boringmachine for an example. The main content of the paper are as follows:(1)This paper studies the theory of numerical milling machining simulation controlmilling simulation technology system at home and abroad, and analys the characteristicsand common modeling methods of it. Adopting geometric modeling method to themachine parts and cutting tool. According to the exist flaws of vertexing index hard andpixels limit, the paper suggests quadrilateral grid modeling method and applys it to theworkpiece modeling.Eventually, virtual NC milling machining simulation environmenthas been founded.(2)In the virtual machining process, according to the common problems in themachining simulation algorithm, such as complex geometry processing and repeatiterative equation. Based on the time division method basic principle, this paper gives aimproves algorithm with putting the unit step angle as middle variables, at the same time,the paper introduces the point that identifys discrete points through bounding box tool.Using the methods that combine local refresh technology with double the cache technicalcombination, it can solve the slower simulation speed problem Finally, an examples of thealgorithm is tested that verif6s the algorithm can realize the real-time process simulation.(3)In the research all above, based on the windows XP,3D graphics software Open Inventor and object-oriented programming language Visual C++.NET. Paper design theNC milling machining simulation prototype system, and has completed the workpiecedefinition, NC code analysis,improvement of the intereface and3D machining simulation.Finally,Paper can achieves the3D workpiece output, as a the foundation for contrastswith original design workpiece.
