In this paper, we removed the non-cellulose substances from bamboo to produce bamboo textile fiber by means of ozone and enzymatic removal treatment. The method can not only remove most non-cellulose material from the bamboo, but also is environmentally friendly and efficient. So our works will play a role in using of Chinese bamboo resources widely and getting the industrial process of bamboo textile fiber. In this paper, the B. albo-lineata Chia bamboo being research material, we explored the conditions of enzymatic treatment and ozone treatment separately, and test the characteristics of the bamboo fiber bundle after treated by enzyme and ozone. According to the results, we got the optimal parameters.Secondly, we combined the enzyme treatment and enzyme treatment, the ozone treatment and enzyme treatment to treat bamboo. According to the testing results of fiber fineness, degumming loss rate and content of residual lignin ratio, we made a comprehensive evaluation for the performances of bamboo fiber treated by different experimental programs. Thus we got the optimum process of removing non-cellulose matters from bamboo: ozone treatmentâ†'hemi-cellulose treatmentâ†'laccase treatmentâ†'hydrogen peroxide treatment. Meanwhile, we got the characteristics results of bamboo fiber bundle: the fiber fineness of 2.86tex, the residual lignin content of 2.77%, hemi-cellulose content of 16.04%, strength of fiber bundle 2.67cN/dtex.Finally, in accordance with the optimal process, we designed experiment steps to explore its mechanism. First, taking the advantages of small size, ozone molecules penetrate into the internal structure of bamboo to destruct the mesh macromolecules of bamboo lignin, to degrade the linkage of molecules. Then enzymes can easily penetrate the internal structure of bamboo to loosen the gum further. Finally, most loosed bamboo gums were removed from bamboo, by making use of the oxidation role of hydrogen peroxide. The results of this study demonstrated that: the effect of enzymatic degumming is weak. So it needs to work with chemical treatment, although non-cellulose matter can be removed partially from bamboo after enzymatic treatment. According to our researching, treating by ozone for bamboo following by process of enzyme treatment, and finally using hydrogen peroxide, most of the non-cellulose matters in the bamboo can be removed. After that, we achieved the bamboo fibers for spinning and the environmental friendly process.
