The 1990s, with the development of modern garment industry and garment CAD technology advances, computer-aided apparel pattern-making technology was born. Pattern design is concrete forms of expression that styles of clothing and structural design, the key of apparel product design and manufacture. Currently, the parametric design has become the most popular CAD application technologies. It is important to import the parametric techniques to the garment CAD technology, since it can significantly improve the intelligence and competitiveness garment CAD.The paper describes the principle, technology and methods developing the interactive pattern-making of garment CAD system, which can draw basic geometric entities including points, lines, rectangles, circles, arcs and curves. It also provides the standard editing function, to copy, to past, to cut and the access of disk files, zoom views, and other auxiliary capacity. In these basic function to add block feature, can be used flexibly create and insert apparel legend.Parametric CAD is one of trends of computer-aided design, so does garment computer-aided design. This paper proposes a parametric patter-making model based on the geometric constraints graph, builds the data structures and accomplishes constraint solving algorithms. This model is created dynamically based on the process of a pattern design, to extract geometric constraints that exist in the pattern, analyzed and summarized this relationship, and give the establishment of geometric constraint graph and solution method. Under the CAD system, this paper provides a parametric patter-making example of the woman back-piece prototype, simulating the process of women's pattern-making.
