Coated fabrics of tenting occupy largest proportions of industrial textiles. A large number of coated fabrics are applied in agriculture, industry, transportation as shelters. Coated fabrics play an important role in ports, mines, goods in construction sites or shipping.With a large number of coated fabrics applied outdoor, the coated fabrics must qualify to resist sunlight, erosions of wind and rain and other natural conditions under certain kinds of tension.In this thesis, PU and PVC coated fabrics are selected as researching objects respectively, the heating temperature and heating time, lighting intensity and lighting time is variable as the two orthogonal factors. The mechanical properties and structure of the fabrics changed when the coated fabrics were treated under heating and lighting conditions. This paper is aim to develop a multi-functional coated fabrics with better quality. The conclusions of this paper are drawn as follows:(1) The mechanical properties of coated fabrics begin to change significantly under the following conditions under the following heating conditions. The breaking strength decreased by 25% and tearing strength decreased by 62% when PU coated fabrics are treated at 200℃for one day. The breaking strength decreased by 54% under the same condition. But tearing strength decreased by 62% when treated at 175℃for one day.(2)The mechanical properties of coated fabrics begin to change significantly under different conditions.The breaking strength of PU coated fabrics decreased by 27% and tearing strength decreased by 32% when treated at 14766μW/cm2 for half an hour. The breaking strength decreased by 30.5% and tearing strength decreased by 32.6% when treated at 11566μW/cm2 for two hours.(3) PU and PVC coated fabrics heating treatment. As the growth of heating treatment temperature, the holes on the surface of PU coated fabric gradually became larger. Crack occurred during the period of coating. With the intensity of lighting increased, the holes become larger and the coating layer became loose on the surface of PU coated fabric when the coated fabrics were exposed in the lighting. The surface of PVC coated fabrics were eroded gradually.
