During graft ABS production, finer particle leads to the result of difficult ABS slurry dehydration, high water consumption, high product loss and poor particle size distribution. This article focuses on ABS slurry dehydration process operation optimization. The application of new type pusher centrifuge not only reduces the washing water amount with the centrifugal force reinforcement, but also simplifies the daily operation with low investment. By optimization of the coagulation temperature to improve ABS powder particle size distribution. With the adjustment of the hydraulic pressure of the pusher centrifuge, increase the dehydration capacity. Optimize the washing water consumption according the wet powder pH value to reduce waste water discharge. The plant trial of washing water temperature decreases the energy consumption. The slot sieve was used to recover the fine powder in the mother liquid after the pusher centrifuge with the result of less product loss. Discuss how the coagulation and dehydration operations influence the ABS resin quality; summarize the best operation parameters based on the past experience. Finally improve the plant capacity and benefit.
