Abstract:Acetylferrocene, bis(acetylferrocene)ethylenediimine ligand were synthesizd from the raw materials of ferrocene, acetic anhydride, ethylene diamine, then the Schiff base containing ferrocenyl complexes were obtained with the ligand and metal salts. All of the above products were characterized by melting point, IR,'H-NMR, MS.Effect of reaction temperature, reaction time, molar ratio, catalyst and solvent on the reaction of each step were investigated through the single variable and orthogonal expriments, then the optimum was obtained. The yield of acetylferrocene was 88% when the solvent was ethand, phosphoric acid was added at 0℃, reaction temperature was 55℃, reaction time was 40min and molar ratio of ferrocene and acetic anhydride was 1:3. The yield of bis (acetylferrocene)ethylenediimine ligand was 64% when the solvent was toluene, the catalyst was hydrochloric acid, reaction temperature was 70℃, reaction time was 9h and molar ratio of acetylferrocene and ethylenediamine was 1:5. The yield of bis (acetylferrocene)ethylenediamine copper(Ⅱ) was 90% when the solvent was ethand, reaction temperature was 60℃, reaction time was 4h and molar ratio of ligand and Copper(Ⅱ) cupric chloride was 1:3.5.Thermal decomposition properties of bis(acetylferrocene)ethylenediimine copper(Ⅱ) was tested by DSC, which decomposited two times with temperature increasing. Two fire experimental platforms were built according to the properties of organometallic complexes, the mono and composite tests on flame extinguishing were investigated. The result shown that the Schiff base containing ferrocenyl complexes had an effect on fire extinguishing.
