Contactless Slab Caster Mold Measuring Instrument Design

Continuous casting technology is widely used in current national steel industry, Crystallizer as a core component of continuous casting machine, whose mouth opening and taper changes will directly affect the quality of the slab, it may also lead to accidents seriously.Therefore, the detection of the continuous casting crystallizer is of great significance.As the traditional measuring equipment is low precision, low in efficiency and complicated to operate, it can not meet production requirements.The imported equipment is expensive and not easy to repair, which are seriously limited the development of domestic enterprises.For the situation, the development of a low-cost, high-efficiency continuous casting machine mold measuring instrument has become a pressing issue.In this paper, we proposed a new continuous casting machine mold measuring instrument design, based on learning from the advanced continuous casting machine mold testing equipment. This is a light, mechanical, electrical, computer integrated design. The core part of the measuring instrument (displacement measuring device) is based on the principles of machine vision and barcode positioning technology.In this paper, we mainly completed the structure design of the new "crystallizer measuring instrument", and provided three alternative design ideas:integrated measurement equipment, mouth opening measurement devices and one side taper measuring equipment. We detailed the design of the displacement measurement device (including structural design and circuit design), and analyzed the accuracy for both displacement measuring device and crystallizer measuring instrument.
