In materials manufacturing industry, especially in the process of injection moulding, Mixing process is always ignored, workers and technicians only look it as an aided working procedure, and they have no demand on the plastic particle mixing machine. With the development of industry, the product quality is also in the exaltation, the mixing process has a direct influence on the product quality, so the study and development of the mixing technology and its equipment appears. The mixing machine's capacity of the market is large, and its price is high, in order to save cost, this paper aims to desire a mixing machine applying to the company specially.To improve the product quality and performance, and to make the product more competitive in the market of auto part, In the paper, the design and strength check of the rotor shaft is a very important part, it plays a decisive role in the safety and stability of the product.According to the survey of the mixing machine in the market, this paper mastered the working principle of the common mixing machine, and confirmed the structure of the rollers and the scheme of mechanical drive. It improved the structures and the links, and made the processing more easier. In the meantime, through the reasonable arrangement of the parts of the shaft, it designed the rationality of the structure and the size. It completed the virtual assembly of the equipment in solidworks, and checked that the designed sizes had no interference. In order to check the strength of the working shaft, we calculated the safety factor according to the combination strength of the bending moment and torque and checked the safety factor according to the fatigue strength. The results proved the veracity of the design.On the basis above the theoretical calculation of the strength of the shaft, we made a finite-element analysis of the rotor shaft in the ANSYS, including the static force analysis and the model analysis. In the result of the static force analysis, we knew the maximum deformation and the maximum stress, and knew that it satisfied the strength requirement. In the result of the model analysis, we obtained the natural frequency and the first four order mode shapes of the equipment. In the situation of the large amplitude, heat treatment can be used to the shaft with no changes to the size of it, and this can increase its strength. According to the analysis of the starting characteristic of the asynchronous motor, we designed the control circuit of the motor system, and chose the electrical components. The circuit can realize the braking and the forward and the reversal of the motor, and it has the functions of the short-circuit protection and over current protection and zero pressure protection. After the installation and the debugging, the equipment has been used normally in the company.
