Complete combustible case is significant to improve the automatic gun's performance such as improving the firing rate and the reliability, reducing the cost of the ammunition, so most of the country around the world put an emphasis on developing complete combustible case technology in the latest decades. It is important to study the characteristic of the linkless feed system for complete combustible case ammunition in small-bore gun system applications.The main works of this thesis focused on the following aspects:1).The automatic gun's linkless feed system structure was designed with the consideration of the difference between complete combustible case ammunition and traditional metal case ammunition after studying the structure characteristics of traditional link feed system.2).The 3D model and assembly model of the automatic gun linkless feed system were established by using PRO/E software.3).The assembly model was imported into RECURDYN from PRO/E through the interface program linking PRO/E and RECURDYN, and the virtual prototype model of the linkless feed system was established after defining the constraints between the parts. The working characteristic of the flexible guideline under the working condition of different shooting angles and different firing rates as well as the ammunition box system and the ramming mechanism's working characteristic during different firing rates were studied.The results indicate that linkless feed system is feasible in theory and the designs can provide a reference for the application of the complete combustible case for the small-bore high firing rate automatic guns.
