Study Of Night Landscape Design In Urban Residential Area

Lighting in the residential area, an essential part in the living environment, can directly affect the health of residents both biologically and psychologically. How to properly plan and construct night landscape that is suitable for the majority of urban community in China, and develop the theory and basic technical indicators to design residential night landscape remain to be studied.Along with the rapid development of society and the quickened tampo of life, people tend to spend more time in night life. Therefore, the night landscape (view) of the city residential area has been increasingly emphasized due to the increased needs of residents.Based on such background, this thesis strives to develop a design of night view for city residential area that not only satisfies resident's requirements both biologically and psychologically, but also solves relevant technological matters and establishes a "man-oriented" theme that matches the humanities and scenic features of the area.First, in order to adapt the developing requirements of society in residential night landscape, after detailed field investigation and analysis of night landscape of residential environment in Changsha City, we proposed two principals include "man-oriented" and "green" strategies to design ideal night landscape in the community, conforming to the city designing codes in community landscape architecture and considering the similarities between the day landscape and the night landscape in a community.Second, we tried to analyze resident's psychological, physiological and behavior characteristics, summarize the characteristics of those objects which would be illuminated, and sum up the present lighting design status of residential environment by adopting methods as:questionnaire,measurement date,on-the-spot mapping and consulting reference, etc.Finally, Research shows that most studies of residential community are rarely concern with the night landscape design, or the design does not measure up to the residents' requirement and expectation. The article puts forwards the methods, steps, and the corresponding technical indicators of urban residential design, as well as residential illuminant, lamps and lanterns and design methods of various environmental factors. The night landscape reconstruction Center Garden in "Jing Chen Yuan" community of Hunan Mobile Telecommunication Operation Center Co., Ltd. will testify the practicability and feasibility of the results presented in this thesis.
