Caisson breakwater as OWC is a new type of structure in coastal engineering. For the past few years, it was concerned widely. It has high value on wave energy conversion rates, and is less dependent on topography, furthermore, the air in the chamber plays the role as the medium of the wave energy,and the impulse turbine doesn't touch the sea water,so the damage of the wave is reduced. The impulse turbine of the Caisson breakwater as OWC is an important part in the second energy conversion. The investigation of the OWC wave energy convertor can provide guidance to the research and design of the highly efficient wave energy converting and utilizing system, which is also extremely important to solving the nowadays energy and environment crisis. The research based on previous studies, analyses the air chamber and impulse turbine through experimental investigations and computational fluid dynamic analysis.The study based on experiments carried out the model tests including wave pressure and energy capturing effect. Energy capturing effect model test has the aim of obtaining wave height in air chamber air pressure in chamber and air velocity in the duct. Dealing with these data the test gets the relationship between the above factors and calculates the first energy conversion rates. The wave height and air velocity has basically the same trend, and air pressure has a phase difference of 1/2 period.Research of the impu1se turbine show that the pressure is relatively high under lower velocity in the speed import of the anisomerous blade of the turbine on the contray, the pressure is relatively low under higher velocity in the pressure export of the blade. And the effeciency of the turbine which was stretched gets an optimized value.The study gives the design and optimization of the second Energy conversion of Caisson breakwater as OWC which lays a foundation to the further use of the device.
