Caisson breakwater is one of the most commonly types for protective structures andrevetment, wave force is the main load acting on it. Because of it has many advantages justas good body integrity, only need small amount of work when installing on water,and doesn’tneed large hoisting equipment, so in the recent years, it is widely used in the port engineeringfields.It is studied from two aspects of physical model test and numerical calculation ofvertical caisson breakwater in this paper, first of all, in order to study the wave forcedistribution of caisson breakwater, based on the physical model test to find suitablecalculation formula for this type of breakwater wave force, the test data for body wavepressure was used to be analyzed, as well as the distribution characteristics of horizontalforce acting on breakwater. The Goda correction method was proposed by the test results,and it was applicable to the calculation analysis. In the second, the relative reliability analysismethod was utilized in this study because there is a high correlation between the breakwaterand wave forces. Finally, elastic theory and rigidity theory were used to interpretation theformula, and the further calculation of the expected changes in the slip of caisson breakwaterunder the action of wave force.On the basis of the above physical model research, we studied the wave forces oncaisson breakwater in this paper. We are correcting the Goda formula from numericalsimulation, studying for the reliability of the vertical breakwater and slippage of computingresearch.
