For a long time, our research on the parking problem in China lags behind the objective development, planning and construction of our parking facilities are not in place, and the city parking system is not perfect. Due to the following reasons, such as serious shortage of total parking facilities, unreasonable allocation, low utilization and mismanagement and other reasons, parking is serious disorder in some cities.With the development of economy, more and more people have owned motorcar in most urban area, the contradiction between parking supply and demand is very conspicuous in many cities, "Difficult parking, parking chaos"has become a more serious traffic problem.On the one hand, this resulted in interference between the static and dynamic traffic, and decreases the road capacity;On the other hand, it brings a great risk to the environment landscape and traffic safety, and finally it will hinder the normal operation of urban social and economic activities.If parking problems continue to develop, it may become the constraints to the development of the social and economic, it is no longer a traffic problem alone but will become a prominent social problem.Parking demand predicition is an important part of parking lot planning and the quantitative basis for the size of parking supply.The main research object of the thesis is public parking lot outside the road, and in the analysis of previous studies,I start the study based on parking demand predicition and public Parking lot planning. To begin with, the thesis analyzes the status of parking problems at home and abroad. The third chapter focuses on some commonly used models in parking demand predicition, and summarizes the advantages and disadvantages and applicability of these models, then gives the concrete steps of parking demand predicition; Finally, the thesis analyses the principles and layout methods of public parking lots outside the road.
