This paper analyses present situation of energy consumption in domestic, the percentage of building energy consumption in total energy consumption is between 25% and 40%, so it is very important to carry out building energy saving for sustainable development in domestic, transitional area is an seriously energy consumption area, although energy conservation design standard for residential buildings in hot summer and cold winter area has been implemented from October 1,2001, implementation time is not long and understanding of energy saving is inadequacy, so energy consumption in transitional area did not improve。But transitional areas have its own characteristics, so can't completely reference successful experience of abroad and other city of China.Taking one of the cities in transitional area—Huainan province as an example, by extensive investigation, obtained with improving of life, in order to achieve comfortable status of residential buildings, mostly selected air conditioning to regulation temperature of residential buildings, but there lots of building didn't according to the standard construction method, then thermal insulation property of building are very poor, resulted in electricity consumption of the air conditioning are more serious, especially in midsummer and severe winter, causing certain pressure of power supply system by using time of air conditioning concentrated。In order to save energy consumption of air conditioning and improve the environment of residential building, simulation and analysis of building materials, that is, window and wall which heat transfer is relatively serious to building, according to simulation results then presents energy saving measures, moreover also given economic analysis of window, provided reference for residents to choosing window, given a series of energy saving measures based on living habits of Huainan area, provided feasible suggestions for residents.Finally, with an residential building in Huainan which build in 1990's as example, Combined better effect of energy saving measures to retrofit the residential building, and analysis showed that improved building satisfy energy saving rate of 50%, This shows energy saving potential of residential buildings in Huainan are very large, if based on old building was used to energy-saving retrofit, it must bring tremendous economic benefit and social benefit.
