Great quantities of stepping transmission mechanisms with various types are widely used in Automatic machinery area. Parallel indexing cam mechanism is the best choice to realize the stepping movement, which has a special practical value in long size high-speed stepping feeding and one-way high-speed intermittent inversion. In order to realize the profile model optimization design and improve the dynamic performance of the parallel indexing, this paper takes the one-dewll parallel indexing cam mechanisms as the research model. It concludes profile design, dynamic analysis, CAD parameterization system based on Visual Basic and Rigid-flexible coupling model establishment.In the field of the parallel indexing cam mechanisms profile design, this paper establishes the theoretical and practical profile mathematical equation together with the pressure angle equation based on the product of exponentials formula. Cam counter generator program in C language in which we could get different kinds of parallel indexing cam mechanisms by changing the cam parameters and movement laws. Two-dimensional drawing and movement simulation graphics in MATLAB could verify the correctness of the CAM profile design program.Dynamic model of parallel indexing cam mechanism is established based on the dynamics of kinetic simulation software ADAMS. Exerting contact constraint and load, input movement speed by changing damping, clearance, load and input speed. Upon above factors, it do some analysis on the indexing and load plates, to discuss the different influence due to the parameters change.Through modular method, with Windows XP as development platform, Visual Basic language as well as AutoCAD2008, parallel indexing CAM design system could design various types of parallel indexing mechanism.In cam mechanism rigid-flexible coupling modeling aspect, with the help of three-dimensional modeling software Pro/E, finite element analysis software ANSYS and dynamics analysis software ADAMS, dynamic model could successfully be established. Upon the dynamics simulation results, some comparison are carried out based on the original model with flex output shaft.
