Parallel indexing cam mechanism is the key part of automated machinery to fulfill the intermittent motion. It is widely used in food, medicine and print industry. In this paper, for the optimization design of parallel indexing cam mechanism and to improve its dynamics performance, parallel indexing cam mechanism is regarded as object of study to carry out the outline design, dynamics analysis and thermal analysis.In the field of the outline design of parallel indexing cam mechanism, this paper is based on product of exponentials formula to derive the mathematical equation of the theoretic and practical outline of parallel indexing cam mechanism. It use Language C to write the order to design the outline of parallel indexing cam mechanism. In the order, the movement discipline can be changed and the parameter can be chosen. Load the data of outline of parallel indexing cam mechanism, MATLAB is used to show the figure of parallel indexing cam mechanism and its kinematics simulation. The outline design of parallel indexing cam mechanism is proved to be right.In the field of dynamics analysis of parallel indexing cam mechanism, this paper is based on the model of chieftain contact to build the dynamics equation of parallel indexing cam mechanism. It use the dynamics analysis software-ADAMS, considering the clearance of parallel indexing cam mechanism, to build the dynamics model, adding the curve contact and load, input the velocity of cam and simulate the dynamics process of parallel indexing cam mechanism. By analyzing the acceleration of the indexing tray and the load, it proved the correctness of the dynamics analysis. Changing the parameter such as the clearance, load, velocity, it can obtain the influence of the dynamics performance by the parameter. Changing the outline, it can analyze the dynamics performance by fabrication quality and manufacture difference.In this paper, wireless measurement system is used to measure dynamic response of gripper on driving chain of die cutting machine. The acceleration on gripper are obtained in different work position of the machine at different speed. According to result data, we found modified sine rule is used in parallel indexing cam mechanism. The effects of speed and work place are analyzed. This work can provide the basis for improving dynamic property of die cutting machine.In the field of thermal analysis of parallel indexing cam mechanism, this paper build the solid modal in Solidworks, import the modal into ANSYS. The modal is meshed after the choice of material parameter and defining the boundary condition. Then the temperature distribution of parallel indexing cam mechanism is analyzed, get the result of the affluence of contact load and dynamics performance by the friction heat.
