Cockpit display of traffic information (CDTI), is used to convey the aircraft traffic information around to the pilots. By the means of receiving and processing the messages send by the ADS-B airborne equipment, and displaying the traffic information included in the ADS-B message on the screen of CDTI, CDTI software can provide a friendly interface to the pilots, so the pilots will have a more intuitive understanding of the traffic situation information of the airspace around. CDTI display provides local traffic information, including the symbol,mark code,location,ground speed,altitude,heading or flight path angle and other information of the local aircraft. CDTI can provide situation information of the neighbors, including the symbols,mark code,orientation and distance of the neighbors relative to the local,height,speed,flight path angle,flight path,traversing trend,movement intentions and other information. CDTI can also provide navigation information, including route information,airport information,navigation station information,the general route point information,spatial information,time and distance information to be fly to the next waypoint.China's air transport industry is developing. The range of the airspace is expanding while the size of aviation team is growing. The type of the aircrafts is updating day by day as well. As the innovation of the management of low-altitude airspace is advancing, the number of the general aviation aircraft is increasing, so that the ATM is more requested, which expand the corresponding market of ADS-B airborne equipment. CDTI can provide the pilots the airspace traffic situation around, which is an important means of the ADS-B air-to-air surveillance, hence can provide a remarkable prospect in the business market, as well as economic and social benefits.In this article we have a brief description on ADS-B system, and make a comprehensive presentation on the embedded real-time operating system VxWorks ,as well as the multimedia components WindML, including its composition, function and use. In one word, we can program with VxWorks + WindML easily and fast to produce beautiful graphics. Either as an independent part of an application, or an supplement to the three-dimensional graphic mapping for the future, the function of two-dimensional graphics of WindML will play an irreplaceable role. This article make a detailed introduction of how to use the VxWorks + WindML graphical interface software to design CDTI graphic interface, providing the concrete process of realization and the key elements of design, and demonstrate the final functional test results in the form of real picture. The design of the software achieve the purpose of drawing the elements of CDTI, such as the different interface, the aircraft icon and the track, adjusting the scale of the display in the whole compass mode and the expanded compass mode, as well as providing detailed traffic information to pilots to intuitively comprehend the surrounding airspace information. The goal of our design is achieved.
