Solar energy is inexhaustible,which is recognized as the ideal clean energy in the world. The use of solar energy has become the research focus. At present, the main restrict factors are the high cost of photoelectric conversion of solar photovoltaic power fluctuant generating capacity and not suitable for long-distance transmission.. With automatic tracking system can extend generating time , increase capacity ,partly lower the generating fluctuation and reduce the generating cost. In order to promote tracking technolog research, promote the rapid development of solar power generation technology, according to Xu Qiming tutor's invention patent and combined with the mechanical theory and control principle of tracking device ,under the assist of mechanical and control engineer, based on single chip microcomputer control solar tracker is devloped in this paper.After studying main research results of automatic tracking technology and tracking system at home and abroad in recent years and technical features and application conditions, on the basis of a novel mechanical design, based on single chip microcomputer control which has uniaxial tracker are discussed .Tracking controller uses MSP430 as control chip and photosensitive detection equipment rectifies tracking error. The main advantages of the tracker are simple structure, low cost , good stability and resistance to storm, low energy consumption, simple racking control procedure and high precision,etc.The main work of this paper is as followes:(1)The use of solar energy with tracking technology is studied. Advantages and disadvantages and applicabilitythe of active and passive tracking and single axle tracking and dual axis tracking are analysed.The design scheme is determined though above reseach.(2)The mechanical structure of solar energy tracker is discussed. This structure has one degree of freedom , which tracks the sun in east-west direction and north-south direction is fixed . This mechanical structure of the movement driven by one stepping motor to complete the sun tracking.(3)Hardware system of solar tracking control system is discussed . Hardware system mainly consists of single- chip microcomputer control unit, power supply unit, photoelectric detection unit, motor drive, the keyboard and signal acquisition components.That completes the entire circuit control and drive.(4)The solar tracking control system software design is completed. Software is designed according to the software function module. The main functional modules : signal acquisition module, step motor module and other relevant function module. Using noon positioning makes the program control simplified and convenient.(5)The performance and economyof control system of solar tracking system are tested and analysed.
