Study On The Strategy Of Restoring Vitality Of Zhongshan Road Block In Qingdao

Theoretical research and practice about revitaliazing historic quarters ofZhongshan road has existed for a long time.These researches already are very mature intechnical layer of urban planning and design.Research about evolution of historic quarters of Zhongshan road has been muchdeeper.Physical protect for it has been put to effective practice.But so far the problemthat zhongshan road is lack of activitys has not been solved.This problem exists to acertain universality. Nowadays the protection and renewing draw more attention,physical and technical studies of which achieved rich theoretical results and practicingexperiences. However, after many historic blocks were restored physically, they did notrecover the vitality. Therefore it is very necessary to study the primary cause for the lackof block vitality in Zhongshan road, and find the catalytic to stimulate the vitality. Fromthe aspect of urban sociology, analyzing the reason for the decline of Zhongshan roadhistoric block and looking for the strategy of reviving are the keys of this issue.⑴Beginning with the comparison study of Zhongshan road in Qingdao and Centralstreet in Harbin, analyzed the detailed difference of the two blocks on multidimensionalaspects and found the origin of the difference.⑵Studied the frame of block vitality theoretically.⑶Studied the successful cases of reviving the block vitality practically, and gainedpracticing experience by analyzing.⑷Introduced the measures took in the past to reform Zhongshan road. Analyzedthe reason for the decline of Zhongshan road from the aspect of urban sociology, andpresented the key catalytic to revive the block vitality. In the end, gave the strategy torevive the block vitality in Zhongshan road from economical, cultural and socialaspects.The purpose of protection and renewing the historic blocks, should not be therecovery of buildings and blocks architecturally, but the reviving the block vitalitySociologically. After the renewing design ,the historic blocks should be popular andactive living space, which is the key point of the protection and renewing the historicblocks.
