The inventory of automobile has increased rapidly with the development of urbanization and the improvement of people's living condition. And in the meanwhile, the environmental pollution is brought by automobile emission also increasingly. Carbon canister is the safety shield that can prevent car fuel to pour to the air. By now, our company carbon canister annual output has surpassed 1.3 million and the manual operation mode can't meet the quality and productivity demand. Thus, exploit the automatic carbon filling machine is an extremely significant part in the guarantee of carbon canister, improvement of productivity and reducing of cost.Firstly, this thesis introduces the structure of carbon canister and the craft of carbon filling. We can only optimize the structure of carbon canister and save the raw material costs if the filling rate of carbon can be enhanced and the filling volume of carbon can be controlled through the analysis.The carbon filling machine consists of major structure, feeding system, filling system and detecting system. The feeding system has been used empty space to achieve automatic feed. The filling system adopts the approach, filling combined with shaking, to improve the filling rate. In detecting system, the magnetic induction electronic caliper detects the filling height of carbon dust and transforms the analog quantity of height to digital signal via DAC module of PLC then displays it in the human-computer interface. The operating system of filling machine consists of PLC, relay, switch, sensor and human-computer interface, it is used to control various actions of filling machine and maintain the working condition. Based on the testing methods, this thesis proves how the shaking pressure affects the filling rate: the filling rate can over 99%, it has enormous economical benefits.
