Laiwu Steel Group is a big steel complex enterprise with output of about tenmillion tons per year. The total weight of goods increases at the speed of30%everyyear. At present, there are more than60weighing machines used for the foreign tradesand transportations in the factory in automatic department of Laiwu Steel Group,including29truck scales. The truck scale as a large scale weighing machine isbroadly applied to metallurgy, coal, electricity, port, goods storage and so on. Theapplication of truck scale can satisfy the needs for high speed and accuracy. Hundredsof thousands tons of goods are passed in or out of our company and about1000vehicles for foreign trades and transportations need to be weighed everyday. Thengoods measurement is one of the most crucial phases that have close connection toeconomic benefits and image of the enterprise.Since the traditional discrete weighting method can not satisfy the requirementsof modern enterprise. We developed 'remote concentrate measurement system' whichis based on non-contact mode IC card and RFID. This system has been successfullyapplied in operation. The system includes intelligent measurement system, remotemonitor system, remote dispatch system, remote measurement controlling center, datadissemination system and so on. It realizes the functions of identifying the licenseplate number, judging location of trucks, collecting, storing and handling data bymeans of IC card, RFID, blazed grating, camera supervision and so on. And it alsorealizes the function of unmanned and self-service measurement on the spot usingnetwork transmission and measurement software. The system operators can operateremotely through video supervision or using voice talk-back system. The system realizes the self-calibration, self-balancing and self-diagnostic functions formeasurement system, remote processing and self-recovery functions for informationsystem, information interconnection and resource sharing and so on, then constructthe nerve center of production and operation management covering the entirecompany. It establishes a solid foundation for the realization of "digital Laigang''.The paper gives the design structure and the related technologies for the project ''remote concentrate measurement system based on non-contact mode IC card andRFID ''. The author organizes the paper using following parts:(1) The currentsituation and problems, the functions and goals we need to develop for the system.(2)The key technologies involved. We mainly introduced the IC technology, RFIDtechnology and SOCKET communication technology, It can save time to developthese technologies and apply them into practice..(3) The overall architecture designof system, including design principles, application framework design, softwarearchitecture design and operating environment.(4) The implementation of system. Weintroduced the modules and their functions and processes. Every module is connectedby IC card to constitute a complete business process.The system can efficiently and fully arrange all the truck scales and combinevariety methods to avoid cheating. It perfects the remote measurement managementsystem by applying distributed network technology. A lot of full range videosurveillance equipments are installed at every measurement location to supervise themeasurement processes, catch shoot to video and trace back the records. All these willassist the operators to accomplish the measurement task and manage the measurementinformation. The system is on good operation now.
