As the energy storage device, power battery is widely used and developed in every industrial field. It has now become one of the most important parts of Electric Vehicles and its demand has also increased year by year. Therefore mass production and maintenance of power battery is particularly important. Battery formation, supplementary charge and discharge have a significant impact on the permeation of power battery. So, an automatic and intellectualized charging and discharging control system for power battery formation is designed in this thesis.The structure of the system is first introduced, and then the function and principles of the syustem's various components are elaborated. A charge-discharge method and control method is proposed based on the analying of the charge-discharge methods and control methods which are frequently-used.In the process of system designing, the communication protocol of the CAN Bus application layer and baud rate of the system are definited according to the type and characteristic of system communication datas. A multifunctional and intellectualized system monitoring software, which set operator management, data collection, data storage, datas and carves dynamic display, charge-discharge program editting and so on in it, is designed with LabVIEW. What's more, variable parameter PI control is presented on the basis of the research and analysis of the digital PID control principles. The software of the main program, CAN communication module, data collection module, PI operating unit .etc is designed with Keil.Finally, a platform is build with the sample of the charging-discharging control system. Experimental datas and waveforms of lead-acid batteries charge and discharge current and voltage are given. The analyzing of the experiment datas and waveforms proves that the control scheme is better, and the system designed is powerful and security.
